The Coast Community Network was started in 2019 as a joint endeavor between the Woods Hole Institute and the College of Exploration.

One of the areas of interest of CoCoNet-MA is the similarities between 48 embayment as determined by MassBays. One of the first projects of CoCoNet-MA is to co-explore the use of smart technologies to connect people and organizations from bays of similar categorization. This one year pilot seeks to determine how technologies and connections support greater resilience to climate change.
